There have been a number of improvements with this frame from Sony’s previous model. The previous models complaints seemed to revolve around three common issues. These were:

1. The Sony logo being illuminated on the frame.

2. The frame only displayed the date and time the photo was taken as opposed to the current date and time.

3. Only able to display camera images and no other image types.

All these issues have been corrected with this new model. The Sony logo can be switched off through the frames setup options and there is an assortment of date and time display modes. As regards to non camera images not displaying, as long as any image is saved as a JPG format then it will display.

The frames LCD screen panel is good with its clear, bright display and wide viewable angle. You can stand it in portrait or landscape and the frame will auto rotate to suit your photos. Displaying you pictures in original aspect will add black bars to the screen when necessary and zoom-to-fit will fill the frame.

The inbuilt memory consists of 1GB and holds a respectable number of photographs and the memory slots will accommodate most card types

The inbuilt clock is in 24 hr format and there is a calender feature which allows you to display the clock and calender along with your photos. The clock also has an alarm mode that is controlled by a slide switch on the top of the digital frame.

The remote allows you to control all the frames setup and display features from a distance.

Like most digital frames, it has a feature to automatically turn the frame off and on. It has a complex auto mode to, where you can set it to switch on an off multiple times for different days of the week.

The picture change presets have several options and have the standard ones with 3 seconds, 5 minutes, 10 mins, 30 mins and once a day. An array of modes for sideshows are incorporated such as swipes and fades, sequenced and random images.

Some very basic image editing can be done through the frame and it has a mode called scrapbook where you can add frames to your pictures and other graphics.

This digital picture frame has more than enough features for any techy geek and for those that just want to get on with it and simply display their pictures.
